The prizes for the 2012 WA CPTED Awards comprise a range of financial awards and certificates both for winning and participating in the competition.

They include:

  • FIRST prize $1250 plus certificate
  • SECOND prize $750 plus certificate
  • THIRD prize $500 plus certificate
  • BEST Idea prizes (5 prizes) $100 each plus certificate
  • GREAT IDEA awards of signed WA-CPTED Awards certificates

For teachers, schools and organisations, there are also Participation Certificates.

  • CPTED is Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design.

    Underlying the use of CPTED is the assumption that the proper design and effective use of the built environment can lead to a reduction in the fear and incidence of crime, and an improvement in the quality of life(Crowe, 2000, p. 46).
